Athens Riviera is an ideal wedding destination for every couple who wants a special place for their big day. Cassandra and Elias, one of the sweetest and kindest couples I have ever met in my career as a wedding photographer, found exactly what they were looking for in this little paradise just a few kilometers from the heart of the capital of Greece; the Athens Riviera is a lacy coastline with crystal clear waters, palm-tree lined esplanades, golden beaches, stylish resorts and luxury venues. They chose Island Residence, an elegant wedding venue with stunning views of the Saronic Gulf that was the perfect setting for a wonderful ceremony and some awesome wedding photos.

Athens Riviera is a Perfect Wedding Destination to Celebrate the Beginning of a New Life

Cassandra and Elias were absolutely thrilled about their dream wedding and they deserved nothing less. They couldn’t have made a better choice than the Athens Riviera, which boasts an idyllic landscape along with a cosmopolitan lifestyle, plenty of chic restaurants, cocktail bars and amazing luxury villas.

It was in such a villa that the couple’s pre-wedding preparations took place: Villa Casa del Mare, a tastefully designed modern residence with a panoramic view of the gulf, only 9 kilometers from the famous Temple of Poseidon in Sounio.

The groom had a great time with his groomsmen; they talked, laughed, exchanged jokes and had a drink before I photographed them in their elegant suits.

The bride too spent beautiful moments with her pretty bridesmaids in a relaxed and emotional atmosphere. She was a vision of beauty in her sensational wedding dress and her Jimmy Choo bridal shoes - so beautiful & elegant!

A Location Ideal for Summer Weddings

Athens is a widely popular destination with exquisite beaches and good weather throughout the year. The Athenian Riviera is perfect not only for weddings but for summer holidays too. Summer weddings are a particularly good choice, as the wedding ceremony can be held outdoors, with the sun shining down on the happy couple.

Cassandra and Elias got married in front of a cute little chapel and their friends and families wished them happiness showering them with rice, as dictated by tradition.

It was a warm sunny day and the wedding photoshoot in the gardens, under the charming floral arch that decorated the white chapel and among the charmingly decorated wedding reception tables resulted in some great pictures of the newly-weds.

At the wedding reception, which was was held in Island Art & Taste, there was live music and lots of dancing. The party rocked for hours and everyone had a fabulous time.

The wedding of Cassandra and Elias gave me the chance to work with some very talented professionals. The expert team of The Genie were responsible for the whole wedding planning and coordination and Afterimage Wedding Films for the wedding videography.

Special reference must be made to Markos Machairopoulos of MR.CO Events Planning for the wonderful wedding decoration and floral arrangements. His team created a fairytale atmosphere at the reception, with lavish flower arrangements and ethereal white fabric over long wooden tables. When the guests arrived they were fascinated by the romantic scenery at the green seaside landscape of Island Art & Taste against the backdrop of the Athens Riviera at dusk. It was the perfect setting for the couple’s first dance and the crazy party that followed.
