Alemagou: A Beautiful Wedding in Mykonos | Alexis & Costa
I had been waiting for Alexis & Costas’ wedding so excitedly… They are one of the sweetest couples I have ever met: kind, simple, calm and full of love, they make everyone around them happy. I had already met them in Athens a few months before, in the context of an engagement session photo shoot, during which I had the chance to spend some time with them and get to know them better.
Mykonos, which is undoubtedly one of the most popular travel destinations worldwide, happens to be one of my favourite destinations for weddings in Greece and I am always delighted to return to it! I love everything about this place: the picturesque and elegant Chora with its maze of narrow cobbled lanes, the dazzling white sugar-cube houses scattered all over the island, the golden sandy beaches, the crystal blue waters – all bathed in the magical Aegean light!
From the very first moment i talked with Alexis & Costas I simply knew that their wedding photographs would be amazing. The couple travelled all the way from New York to make their dream come true on the mythical island of the winds and their guests came from all over the world. The atmosphere was fantastic and everyone had a wonderful time. There were so many great moments to capture, from the beach party in Platis Gialos to the pre-wedding party at Belvedere Hotel, and of course the wedding party at Alemagou…
The wedding day started with a pool party, with Costas and his friends in a private villa in the area of Kanalia. I just loved the villa’s exquisite architecture that blended with the natural beauty of the landscape… After the groom’s preparation I went to Mykonos Grand Hotel to take photos of the bride’s preparation. The emotion was palpable in the air…
The wedding ceremony took place in the little church of Agios Sostis, a traditional whitewashed Cycladic chapel, with all the guests surrounding the beautiful couple with the positive energy of their love. The wedding reception was held at Alemagou and everyone agreed it was the best wedding party ever!
Also i had the chance to work on this wedding with a very good wedding planner George Karagiorgas from Live Experiences, who had coordinated all the day just perfect!
