Chic Parisian Wedding in Invalides Palace
Few cities in the world can compare to Paris. And a wedding photoshoot in the City of Light had been a lifelong dream of mine. Now my wish was finally granted. Thanks to a lovely, perfectly matched couple.
Cathedral of Saint Louis des Invalides
Stellina and Geoffroy live permanently in Paris. If I was asked to describe their wedding in one word, I would definitely choose the word “classy”. The ceremony took place at the Cathedral of Saint Louis des Invalides. I was filled with awe at the thought that this classical building, which was once decorated with hundreds of trophies, had witnessed centuries of French history. In contrast with many Gothic churches in Paris, this one is particularly light, partly owing to the white shining marble used in its interior. The various banners and flags hanging from the walls reflect its military background. Today it is the seat of the Catholic Bishop for the Armed Forces of France.
The bride, who arrived in a white vintage Rolls Royce, was a vision of beauty in her stunning wedding dress and the groom, who was very elegant in his dark blue suit, couldn’t hide his emotion as she was walking down the aisle. The melodious compositions of Bach, played on the 17th century organ, including Ave Maria, created an atmosphere of peace and reverence.
Parisian Wedding Ceremony
The reception was held at a legendary hotel in the heart of the city, Shangri-La Hotel, the former home of Prince Roland Bonaparte, the grandnephew of Napoleon Bonaparte. In the welcoming and stylish environment of this historic venue, the newlyweds impressed their guests with their jaw-dropping dance.
It was one of the most romantic weddings I have ever had the pleasure to attend and shoot. The natural kindness and the happy smiles of this sweet couple really captivated me. And if course, I inevitably fell in love with Paris and can’t wait to visit it again…
Dear Stellina & Geoffroy thank you so much from my heart for all the amazing experience!!
